Royal Enfield is recognized as the world’s oldest continuously running motorcycle company, originating in Redditch, England, in 1901. The company’s era began with one simple motto: “Made Like a Gun, Goes Like a Bullet.” Their first motorcycle began the reputation for endurance and toughness. In the decades that have passed since, the Royal Enfield Bullet has been a standard bearer model for the company and remains one of the longest manufactured production models of any motorcycle today.

After the Second World War, the story truly evolved when the Indian government evaluated the Bullet 350 for service in their army and police. This action ultimately led to the establishment of Enfield India in 1955 and began manufacturing its motorcycles in Madras (now known as Chennai). Royal Enfield has experienced many changes throughout its history, including a merger with Eicher Motors in 1994, but always managed to still exist and evolve. It experienced periods of manufacturing difficulties in the 1990s but, with the addition of new factories and modern bikes, has breathed new life into its classic motorcycles in the 2010s and beyond.

Royal Enfield has been a motorcycle brand that embraces riders with a simple formula of retro looks and modern engineering. Looking at the inspiring Classic 350, the rugged Himalayan, and twin-cylinder favorites like the Interceptor 650 and the newest, Guerrilla 450, Royal Enfield is as much a part of the roads in India, as it is in every country of the world. The one thing that we know is that Royal Enfield’s philosophy of old world tradition and new world innovation brings motorcycles to life that are about adventure in the spirit of yesteryear. Royal Enfield motors are still relevant legend, now and forever.
